A vibrant layered drink combining creamy coconut and fresh orange for a stunning visual and fresh taste.

# What You Need:

→ Coconut Layer

01 - 5 fl oz well-shaken coconut milk
02 - 1.7 fl oz coconut water
03 - 1 tbsp simple syrup (or to taste)
04 - Ice cubes

→ Sunrise Layer

05 - 3.4 fl oz freshly squeezed orange juice
06 - 2 tbsp grenadine syrup

→ Garnish

07 - Orange slices
08 - Fresh mint sprigs (optional)

# Steps:

01 - Fill two tall glasses with ice cubes.
02 - Combine coconut milk, coconut water, and simple syrup in a shaker or jug and stir until smooth.
03 - Pour the coconut mixture evenly into the bottom of each glass to establish a snowy white base.
04 - Slowly pour orange juice over the back of a spoon onto the coconut layer, creating a gradual gradient effect.
05 - Carefully drizzle grenadine syrup along the inside edge of each glass to form a vibrant red sunrise at the top.
06 - Top with orange slices and optional mint sprigs. Serve immediately.

# Top Tips:

01 -
  • It looks so impossibly beautiful that people will think you're secretly a trained mixologist.
  • No cooking required means you can pull this together while still in your weekend pajamas.
  • The coconut base is naturally creamy and grounding, while the sunrise top brings brightness and just enough tartness to keep things interesting.
02 -
  • Temperature is everything—if your ingredients aren't cold enough, the layers will blur together instead of staying distinct and dramatic.
  • The back-of-the-spoon technique isn't just fancy; it genuinely slows the orange juice so it doesn't crash through the coconut layer like it's on a mission.
03 -
  • Make your simple syrup the night before so it's truly cold—warm syrup will start to melt the ice immediately and thin out your carefully built layers.
  • Shake that coconut milk can like you mean it; lazy shaking is the number one reason the base layer looks separated instead of luxurious.
